Donate to Life

Also titled: Help a Sister Out!

This is a little unorthodox for these parts, but here goes:

I’m ย doing a fundraiser and I would love your help.

My sister and her husband desperately want a baby. And we can be a part of that happening.

This beautiful couple has gone the routes that people wanting a baby go and the next step in their journey is to visit Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha.

It takes a lot of time and money to go to PPVI. But from everything we hear, it’s absolutely worth it.

There are tremendous costs incurred — travel, food, lodging, the actual procedure, etc. It’s a lot and my sister and her husband understand that and are willing to make the effort. They have been working hard and saving and working some more to save more. They have done an incredible job (sold a car, quit eating out, odd jobs after their 9-5’s) and they are just about there.

But not quite — there is a little more to go. And I’d love to somehow let the Internet shower them with a little love.ย I know this is very forward of me, but I was wondering if perhaps you’d like to help?

If every one of my blog readers gave even $1, that would be a nice little chunk of change. As crazy at it sounds, I’m humbly asking you to consider this.

I know most of you don’t know my sister (trust me, she’s awesome). But her fertility journey — which has pretty much been the exact opposite of mine — it has opened my eyes to the great struggle some couples have to start a family. Perhaps you’ve been in this situation yourself and understand precisely how this feels.

I had no idea what some couples must do to get a baby. And it sounds like PPVI is at the top of the list in helping that happen for couples like this one.

So if you can donate a little something to this cause, I would be blessed and humbled. If monetary donation isn’t feasible, please pray for them. They leave at the end of this month to start what we are praying will be a new, encouraging and exciting season in their life.

For those who do donate, I am offering a few little door prizes. Three very generous friends of mine have offered their services as part of this drive (thank you, girls!). If you Donate to Life, please leave a comment at the end of this post and you are automatically entered to win one of three great prizes.

Prizes are:

1. Year subscription to Faith and Family Magazine, thanks to generous editor Danielle Bean
2. A shopping session with the fine Hallie Lord at Bloom
3. A web banner designed by the fabulous Dorian Speed (who designed this very site!).

So enter to win — click on the paypal button to the left and we will see what we can do.

Thank you so much for any support you can give. Much love to you all.

No doubts, there are many aspects you must think about your health. Nowadays, it is formidably to select of good repute pharmacy. Medications, certainly, is going to change your breath. Viagra is a drug used to treat varied indispositions. What do you have to know about “canadian viagra prices“? How you can get detail info about “cheap viagra online canadian drugstore“? Of all the things in the field of healthcare that pique our care most, it’s erectile disfunction, especially “generic viagra online canadian pharmacy“. Sex drive dysfunctions are so as a rule a product of what you’ve experimental that there is slightly to that “headache” saying after all. Such disease is best drastic with vocational help, commonly through counseling with a qualified dispenser. Good sex therapist can help find the treatment that is better for you and your member. In spite of the fact that this medicament is not for use in women, Viagra is not expected to be dangerous to an unborn baby.

  16. Hi! I know this is a bit odd, but we live in Lincoln, NE about 50 minutes away from Omaha. I would love to offer them to stay at our home. We have great guest quarters downstairs in our home and they are welcome to come and go as they please. We do have six little children (one in utero also) so it probably is a bit LOUD at our home, but we wanted to offer. We have a very good friend who works at Pope Paul also. She will be in love with the place. They have helped so many women. God Bless.

  18. I had never heard of PPVI, but after checking out the website, I will be encouraging my friends struggling with fertility issues to check it out. I am adopted (my parents were unable to conceive) and I know firsthand the struggles that many people go through to create a family.

I’ll be praying for your sister. And I’ll be donating as soon as I finish typing this.

  19. Kathy McVickar says:

    Donation sent, prayers included.

  22. I hope our small donation helps! I am giving in honor of our daughters’ 10th birthday today! I feel so very humbled and blessed everyday to be able to be the mother of 5 healthy children and I pray that some day soon your sister and her husband get to know that same joy as well!! God’s blessings to all!!

  23. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated. Rachel, you are so awesome for setting this up for JoJo. I love you guys and I am praying everyday for a miracle. xoxo

  24. As someone who had fertility problems herself, I am so empathetic to your sister and her husband’s journey. We now have 2 delightful little boys, 2 and 6-mo, thanks to the help of a wonderful NFP doctor here. I will pray your sister and her husband are similarly blessed! And hopefully our little donation will help as well.

  25. I hope our little donation can help. Praying for your sister and her family.

  26. PRAYING praying praying!!!! And hoping that each little bit adds up to success and graces for them!!! What a great and generous idea, Rachel! Thanks for asking, we’re happy to help ๐Ÿ™‚

  27. I will be praying for your sister and her hubby. I would also suggest they consider adoption as a wonderful option too. No pressure meant and no guilt meant as we walked the infertility route ourselves. We were at the process of considering in vitro and prayed a lot about it. God led us to 4 wonderful children in Korea through international adoption. We cannot imagine having any other children now!! They ARE our children and we could never love them more if we had given birth to them!! We have many close friends who have adopted domestically too and through foster care. Several of them used Catholic adoption agencies, although we did not. I know there are many good Catholic agencies out there if that would be important to your sister and husband.

I will pray for your family members and I know God leads different families to grow in different ways. But adoption is one option out there and I don’t know anyone who has regretted it after they brought home their new child or baby!! God can grow families in more than one way! ๐Ÿ™‚

  30. Donated. As a woman who is unable to have children, but has experienced the joys of motherhood through adoption, I will keep your sister and husband in my prayers. Please keep us updated. I will also pray that should they continue to have difficulty conceiving, that they would open their hearts and their home to consider that God might just want them to build their family through adoption. Many, many blessings!!!

  31. Joanna Miller says:
