Augie: Dude, that’s muscle. I am ripped.

And then the friend didn’t do anything like tell him to shut-up or laugh or anything. It was just on to the next topic, which I think involved knives or riding bikes.

  1. 🙂 My parents raised me (and my 3 sisters) with a similar body image of ourselves. Muscle over shape! Health over beauty! I repeatedly thank them for helping me see the real me. I’m now raising a son and this makes perfect sense (though most aspects of raising a boy are lost on me – thank goodness for people like you!)
