Dear Readers: next week I’m headed up to Boston to begin filming a new season of The Gist. Hooray!
This season we’re trying something new and hoping to get some questions from our viewers (or our readers!) that we can answer on the show. It would be so great if you would ask me something! Or ask Danielle something (hint: ask about the amazing thing her husband built her for her recent birthday) or ask Carolee something. I’m serious: like, how do I keep up with laundry or what deep psychological issues do I think keep me from spending time in the kitchen.
You can leave a comment here, or head over to Faith and Family.
We thank you in advance. I owe you a beer.

Hmmm..the chance to get inside Rachel’s head…me likes! first- what do you wish the mama of baby Isabel could have told the mama of baby Ethan?
2. Tips on training a dragon, I mean toddler. What has surviving 6 of the little monsters taught you? Other than to pray more, I mean.
3. what would handsome hubby say is your best quality? And for the good dirt, your worst?
4. What makes your prayer life richest? And when it is not at its peak, what brings you back close to Him again?
Might just post some more as anon on f&f live lest I look like a total mommy stalker
1. How do you handle political/religious discussion with relatives who have forgotten the whole “don’t disucss religion or politics” rule? What do you do when a family dinner becomes let’s bash the practicing Catholic?
2. How do you handle teenage children becoming aware that a relative is living with a boyfriend or hasn’t been to church in twenty years of fill in the blank?
3. I’d love to hear a discussion on older children and prayer. How do you encourage but not force kids to give time to God? Actually I do “force” the issue, but just the time, not the content.
I want to know how do you do it all? I only have 3 ( ages 5, 2, and 1) and its so hard to keep up with EVERYTHING. Laundry, making healthy meals, taking my oldest to activities,. How do you stay ahead of the game?
Also would love to know how you psych yourself up for the difficulties of pregnancy, birth, and babyhood/ toddler hood over and over again. We are gearing up to abandon the method ( of NFP) again and of course every child is a blessing and there is no greater gift but sometimes we dread the sickness of pregnancy, the sleepless and diapers and tantrums and the intenseness of a newborn/ toddler. How did you do it over and over again? Especially for those of us with little family help (other than awesome husbands of course). Hope that makes sense. Love your blog and love your book!
Thank you SO MUCH ladies. I passed these along to our producer!
Hi Rachel–
As I live in NH (and work at Danielle’s alma mater where her father also works), I am wondering if you have a live audience? Or, could you have a live audience? I saw you with Danielle and the others when you were in MA at the “Mom’s Day Out” (or whatever it was called)–and loved it! My babies are 27 and 29–but I really love hearing how others live their faith no matter what their circumstances are.
Thanks–
Cheryl
We don’t have a live audience right now, but I will pass this along to our producer! Thanks for your interest!
I am very thankful that you speak openly here about your experience as part of a Christian community. I was especially excited to learn that your community is made up of not only Catholics but Christians of other denominations. I love our Protestant brothers and sisters, and my faith has been strengthened by their example in many instances. Would you possibly want to explore the balance between remaining Catholic while embracing the people and knowledge and godliness of our Protestant brethren?
Hey Rachel, I am around this week if you need transportation. Wish I had seen this last week, as you are probably already in the area! Good luck with the taping – my homeschool group will be touring Catholic TV on Tuesday (not me) and Friday (me included), and I’ll be thinking of you and praying for you.
